Stone Interiors opened in July 1997, locally owned and operated from day one. John Cognevich has owned it since 2009, and our work runs from family kitchens to restaurant bars across the region.
In 2025 Stone Interiors merged with Crescent City Countertops, owned by Jim Owens. Today John and Jim run the company together: two fabrication shops, a bigger slab selection and one gallery in Kenner.

We pick the stone ourselves
Our team walks quarries in Brazil, Italy and Colorado and chooses material by hand. It’s how stone you won’t see everywhere ends up in our gallery.
Two shops, two strengths
One shop handles production work for builders and retail programs. The other is set up for custom pieces: waterfalls, mitered edges, backlit stone.
Precise from start to finish
Laser templates on site, CNC cutting in the shop and hand finishing on every edge. Then our own crews install it.
Homeowners, builders and the people who design for them.
We build countertops for custom homes, production builders, designers and architects, restaurants and bars. We’re also a trusted service provider for Home Depot and Lowe’s in Louisiana.
Who you’ll work with.
John Cognevich
John became the sole owner of Stone Interiors in 2009 and grew it into the largest fabricator of granite, marble and quartz in Louisiana. A 1993 graduate of Loyola University’s School of Business, he’s driven by one thing: giving clients products that are second to none.
Jim Owens
Jim built his career running Jim Owens Flooring. He wanted to give his customers more, so he moved into countertops, and after years in flooring, stone became his passion. That's how Crescent City Countertops started. Since the 2025 merger, he and John run the company together.

Director of Sales and Business Development. Travels to quarries in Brazil and Italy every few months to choose the stone you’ll see in our gallery.
