Two kinds of stone that glow.
Onyx forms in layers, like rings in a tree, as minerals settle out of water over thousands of years. Those bands are what make every slab different, and they come alive when you put light behind them.
Semiprecious slabs are made from real gemstones, like agate, amethyst and quartz crystal, cut and set together by hand into one surface. No two pieces match.
Both are softer and more delicate than granite or quartzite. They’re chosen for beauty, not for the busiest counter in the house.

- 01Keep it sealedSealing protects against stains. Ask us how often to reseal your piece.
- 02Watch out for acidsLemon, wine and vinegar can etch the surface. Wipe spills right away and use coasters.
- 03Clean gentlyA soft cloth and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. No bleach, vinegar or abrasive pads.
- 04Plan the lighting firstBacklighting needs the right LEDs, spacing and support behind the stone. We plan it with your electrician before we cut.
